What is EGA Hospitality?
EGA Hospitality (Emiliana Grandi Alberghi) is an independent Italian hotel management company, founded in Bologna in 1971. It specialises in upper upscale hotels of 4 stars and above and in boutique hotels.
How are EGA Hospitality and Monrif Hotels related?
They are the same company: for many years the hotels run by Emiliana Grandi Alberghi were known as Monrif Hotels. EGA Hospitality is its evolution, born from the path of evolution and generational change undertaken by Monrif S.p.A. to develop its existing businesses with greater strength, always in Italy.
Which hotels does EGA Hospitality operate?
In Bologna it operates the Royal Hotel Carlton, Hotel Internazionale and Hotel Brun. Hotel Mercure Reggio Calabria is scheduled to open in 2027. Our hotels have 378 rooms in total.
Which operating models does EGA Hospitality offer?
Four: lease (renting the property), management (a management contract on behalf of the owner), white label (operating under an independent name) and branded (operating in affiliation with an international brand). The model is chosen according to the property and the owner’s goals.
In what sense is EGA Hospitality an independent operator?
It does not belong to a hotel chain and is not tied to a single brand: it can run hotels under their own identity or in affiliation with international brands. In terms of ownership, it is wholly owned by Monrif S.p.A.

Where does EGA Hospitality operate?
Today in Bologna, with three hotels. From 2027 also in Reggio Calabria, with Hotel Mercure. The goal is to grow across Italy with new hotels and new partners.
